There's a word in Swedish for the belief that no one should think they're better than anyone else. Charlotte mentioned it and paused — because she knew most people wouldn't recognize it. But they'd recognize the feeling instantly.

It's called Tall Poppy Syndrome. It exists in Australia, Sweden, Italy. Probably the country you grew up in, even if it doesn't have a name there.

The image is precise: a field of poppies, all the same height. One grows taller. And the instinct — cultural, social, sometimes familial — is to cut it down.

Charlotte called it what it is: insecurity. Collective insecurity codified into social rules. Don't stand out. Don't shine too bright.

The Hero's Journey requires you to grow taller than the field. Recognizing that force — naming it — is the first act of defiance.

Charlotte named it. Now you know what you're up against.
